With the Recapitulation Replica Steinvag interrupts the Portiersloge with a sculptural intervention specially made for this space. The Recapitulation Replica is a part made up of parts, an exact replica or repetition of a evolutionary process during development and growth. The part becomes part of a whole, a synthesis of sculpture and space. The replica is a partial object or a separable part of the building as a body, a material part of an aggeressing apparatus, a separating machine. The replica must cease to be a replica in order to become real and its artifice.
