Injectionous
Sculpture (silicone, polyurethane). Initially made for Paul Seger’s Literary High, De Fabriek Eindhoven (NL).
Mock-up’s body pars are used for medical training to overcome the fear of the needle, in this case a silicone arm for multiple injections functions as a metaphor for the pathology of addiction as self-medication. This junky-like arm is confronting and contradictionary, as injections are against infections, but self-injections are infections of the self.
